SENTAN Pharma is a hybrid drug discovery venture that combines the strengths of both the “pipeline-based” and “platform-based” business models traditionally adopted by biotech companies.
By leveraging its proprietary nano- and micro-formulation technologies, SENTAN Pharma can “re-engineer” compounds previously abandoned by pharmaceutical companies and off-patent drugs by imparting new functions, enabling them to take flight as novel pharmaceuticals worldwide.
Furthermore, the company possesses its own pipeline of nano- and micro-formulations targeting various diseases.
Nanoparticles and Microparticles
Our nanoparticles and microparticles utilize biocompatible polymers. Specifically, the primary polymer “PLGA” is a copolymer of lactic acid and glycolic acid. After being absorbed within the body, it is ultimately metabolized into water and carbon dioxide, ensuring safety.
It has been confirmed that PLGA nanoparticles taken into the body enter cells and undergo hydrolysis to slowly release the encapsulated drug.
